Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) refer to a class of organic compounds having two or more benzene rings. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are hydrocarbons containing two or more benzene rings in the molecule, including more than 150 kinds of compounds such as naphthalene, anthracene, phenanthrene and anthracene.
So far, all countries and regions have determined through written laws or decrees:
EU: REACH Annex 17;
Germany: GS certification
Article 50 of Annex 17 of the REACH Regulation deals with eight PAHs: benzo(a)pyrene (BaP), benzo(b)pyrene (BeP), benzopyrene (BaA), bent (CHR), benzo(b)fluorene Bismuth (BbFA), benzo(j)fluoranthene (BjFA), benzo(k)fluoranthene (BkFA), dibenzopyrene (DBAhA). It stipulates that the total mass fraction of eight PAHs in the tire filling oil is ≤0.001%, and the BaP mass fraction is ≤0.0001%.
In the GS certification, the 13 PAHs involved are tested using the ZEK 01.4-08 standard. The substances involved are as follows:
On August 4, 2014, the German Technical Equipment and Consumer Products Committee (ATAV) announced new control requirements for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) requiring GS-certified products, which took effect on July 1, 2015.
